I came to Jason Park with a torn meniscus and down spirits hoping to avoid surgery but to be able to run, play tennis, and enjoy other forms of exercise again. Jason diligently determined the nature of my injury and then developed a treatment plan that suited my schedule and needs. He has a very peaceful and caring demeanor and is a pleasure to work with. He is thorough, clear, extremely knowledgeable, and always available to answer questions outside of sessions. Right on schedule, my knee is fully recovered and strengthened and I'm armed with plenty of exercises and stretches to prevent future injuries. I couldn't recommend Jason more highly to anyone seeking physical therapy! -Raina W.
"I would highly recommend Jason Park for anyone seeking Physical Therapy treatment. I was very pleased with the care I received. I first came to Jason with severe foot pain due to my recent plantar fasciitis diagnosis. However after he evaluated me and came up with a treatment plan we realized that much of my ongoing lower back pain, stiffness and foot pain that I was experiencing for years was all centered around a specific area. Through effective communication and his vast clinical experience, Jason was able to pinpoint the source of my problem and develop a treatment plan. After several weeks of receiving PT treatment and ongoing exercises, my pain has been eliminated allowing me to return to exercise classes, golf, and tennis. Jason is very easy to work with, he’s a great listener, communicator and practitioner. Without reservation I highly recommend Jason for anyone seeking PT treatment." - Tracey L. 50s
"During my first season as a Division I collegiate rower, I suffered a severe back injury that included two herniated discs and two bulging discs in my lumbar spine. I was unable to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time for almost five months and no amount of rehab from the university physical therapist yielded any progress. When I returned home from my first year of college in May I saw a physiatrist at Hospital for Surgery in NYC who recommended physical therapy.
I worked with Jason for a few months. Each week produced a small, yet noticeable amount of progress. As the weeks went on, I noticed a significant decrease in my pain levels, along with an increase in my mobility. Jason was always concerned with how I was feeling on any given day and sought to provide each rehabilitative session with purpose. There was not a single meaningless motion done in my three months of working with Jason. He made sure I knew exactly why I was doing what I was doing. He did not just provide me with a list of movements to do, but also with the knowledge and awareness of my own body and its capabilities. By the middle of August, I was able to take my first pain-free stroke on a rowing machine in almost nine months.
When I returned to college as a sophomore in September, I was able to able to row with the team. Rowing in an intensely demanding sport, that practices six times a week from September until May and after working with Jason I did not experience any difficulty returning to my life as a collegiate athlete. At some points, I was unsure whether I would be able to perform certain movements in practice or the weight room and I frequently consulted with Jason on many questions, all of which he promptly answered with thoroughness.
At the end of my sophomore year I suffered a separate injury – this time it was my shoulder. Without hesitation, I returned to Jason for help and once again I experienced significant progress in short periods of time. The strength and mobility in my shoulder was not only restored, but had improved to levels I had never experienced before. For a second time, and because of Jason’s help, I returned to college rowing without pain or difficulty.
My experience with Jason has not only rehabilitated me, but provided me with the knowledge and control over my body that many Division I athletes never attain. I am profoundly grateful for all the effort and care I have received from Jason over the years. From my own experiences, I can attest that it is difficult to find a physical therapist that is as meticulous and informative as Jason is, and I highly recommend him to anybody seeking a physical therapist." -Gabe R. 20's
"Jason is a dedicated, caring, and gifted physical therapist. I came to him when I sustained an injury to my neck due to golf. He listened very carefully as I explained my symptoms. His main objective was to restore me to full health and full potential. He was diligent, encouraging and successful in that pursuit. As a patient, one can rely on Jason completely with one's well being because he REALLY CARES and wants the best results for you. I have complete trust in his abilities. My improved golf scores are the best testimonial of all!" -Terry F.
"Having been there and done that at PT several times before, I was grateful to have Jason for my last two stints – one for a knee that previously had meniscus surgery, as well as my neck, an annoying veteran of 5 whiplashes. His quiet demeanor belies a significant knowledge base, adaptability, and responsiveness, as well as a total hands-on commitment to care. His treatment plan reflected my personal needs as well as his own suggestions, implemented to effect an overall beneficial experience. Jason rocks!" - Mari S. 70s
"I came in to rehab a torn right ACL. Prior to seeing Jason I was at another PT facility for a little more than a month. My right knee was extremely tight and I was having trouble getting full extension. After my first few visits with Jason my knee loosened up a lot and I finally got my knee to fully extend. I previously tore my left ACL in the past and I had trouble reaching full extension with that knee as well. Comparing both injuries at all levels of the rehab process, my right knee came a long much quicker and was stronger due to the different techniques Jason used to target different muscles around the knee.
Prior to Jason I was definitely missing out on the hands on approach that he used. Jason made a specific workout circuit tailored to my injury that I would follow throughout my session. Jason implemented certain workouts that would target a certain set of muscles. Jason's knowledge of how the human body works and knowing what muscle groups to target really increased the speed of my recovery. From previous experiences, most therapists would just show me a few basic workouts that would only target a certain muscle which ended up leaving me weaker in different areas of my leg.
I knew the importance of rehabbing properly since I wanted to just get back to being active at a high level. Throughout my rehab process with Jason we targeted balance, strength, stamina, and flexibility. All of these components were worked on thoroughly throughout my rehab process. The dynamic and explosive workouts Jason created for me increased the speed of my recovery greatly. Jason was invested in my rehab process just as much as I was. Due to his hands on approach and personalization of all the workouts, Jason helped me exceed my goals that I set during my first visit with him.
I would recommend Jason to anyone who is trying get back to a sport or just being active at a high level. Sometimes people get frustrated that they aren't seeing immediate results when they are rehabbing but during my time with Jason I was seeing results on a weekly basis. Jason is an extremely personable and knowledgeable person where he puts the best interests of his patients first while making sure that they are constantly working towards their goals." -Eric L. 20's
"When I tore my left ACL, MCL and meniscus from soccer, it was devastating. After surgery, I had to find a physical therapist and having had no experience with PT before, I was nervous that I had to do at least 6 months of PT and wanted to find someone that was going to allow me to be as active as I was prior to surgery. Before working with Jason, I was really struggling to even bend my knee a little bit after surgery. My knee felt stuck and it was so painful just to bend slightly. Jason easily put a smile on my face and allowed me to have input in the rehab process. He guided me, pushed my limits and made me work on not just my bad knee but on my overall body. He even would contact my doctor when needed. My recovery was not easy for me, but Jason truly made it enjoyable and I know I would not be able to work out like I can today if it wasn’t for him. Jason absolutely helped me reach all my goals. He motivated me to get back into all of my activities and I cannot thank him enough. He is so kind, caring, and knowledgeable in his field that makes you feel so much comfort in your decision to work with Jason. I would recommend everyone to go see Jason. He is a class act and is very intelligent. He truly cares about his patients. He explains everything in common terms and allows you to just discuss issues and goals with him." -Jaclyn W. 20's
I came across Jason Park when he was introduced to me at Orange Theory fitness in Hackensack, where he provided the class with an informative session regarding the importance of various stretching exercises in order to prevent injury. Besides OTF, I am also an avid runner and currently preparing for the (NYRR full marathon 2019). Unfortunately, I have been battling shin splints for a few months. Jason Park provided some very helpful stretching exercises and important tips on how to manage and prevent this from recurring. He even makes house calls if trying to find time is an issue.
